*New in release 3.9.0
Building upon the standard Eclipse Coupon Codes functionality, the new OE Touch Coupon feature not only supports that capability but expands the functionality by allowing coupons to be defined at the Order level, supporting the ability to include or exclude price lines, and at the Product level, supporting the ability to buy one get one free, buy one product and get another at an additional discount/free, and more!
The OE Touch app will accept both normal Eclipse coupons and enhanced OE Touch coupon codes in the Promos Code section of the Checkout page.
1. Enable Coupon Codes
There is a new control file, Innovo OE Touch Enable Coupon Codes, and when enabled will display a promo field on the checkout page during the order process. If a customer chooses to enter a promo code, we validate on the standard COUPON file to make sure it is a valid coupon code and then apply any additional OE Touch specific logic.
2. Set up the Eclipse Coupon Code Product
Create a miscellaneous charge item to use for your coupons using the MiscChg status. Any discount taken on the order will be posted to the chosen GL Acct.
3. Define the OE Touch Coupon Code Rules
There is a new control file, Innovo OE Touch Coupon Maintenance, where you can define your coupon code rules.
Note: This is available in Eterm only.
To set up the promotion:
- Type "New" to enter a new coupon code
- Enter the coupon code with no spaces. We suggest using a prefix such as "OET:" to indicate the coupon code is for the OE Touch app
- Enter a description of the coupon or promotion
- Enter the coupon miscellaneous charge item in the Product field
- Select the Discount Type:
- Order - applies to entire order (Include/Exclude Price Line settings apply)
- Product - applies to a specific product
- BOGO - Buy One, Get One (buy one at full price, get one at the specified percent or dollar amount off, use 100% for buy one, get one free)
- Where applicable, set the fields for:
- Order Min Amount (Minimum $ amount to purchase)
- Starts On (coupon effective date)
- Expires On (coupon expiration date)
- Discount Pct (discount percentage)
- Fixed Disc Amount (fixed dollars off amount)
- Press Esc to save
Here are examples of the three order types. This first example is for the discount type of ORDER, for 10% off the listed price line, with a minimum amount and date range.
This example is for a PRODUCT, offering 50% off. Note: You can only enter one item in the Discount Prd field for the PRODUCT type coupon.
This example is for a BOGO, where you buy one fitting and get the second fitting free.
When you enable the Innovo OE Touch Enable Coupon Codes control file, the Enter Promo Codes section appears on the Checkout page.
You can enter Promo/Coupon codes several ways:
- Type in the code
- Scan a barcode or QR code using the built-in device camera
- Scan a barcode or QR code using a Bluetooth scanner
When you tap in the Enter Promo Code field, the keyboard appears at the bottom with a barcode icon. Use the keyboard for manually entering the code. Tapping the barcode icon will prompt you whether to allow access to the device camera the first time, and will remember your choice after that. Tap OK and the camera function will appear with brackets. Center the barcode or QR code within the brackets until the coupon code is recognized. If using a Bluetooth scanner, you can scan the barcode or QR code from anywhere on the page. Once the code is entered, tap the Apply button.
Note: Entering the Promo/Coupon code is not case specific, but you must enter the entire code. For example, if the coupon code is "OET:BOGOFITTING" and you only enter "OET:BOGO", the coupon will not be found. When a valid promo is found, the coupon code with description will appear with the savings amount. You can tap the Remove button if you decide not to use the coupon.
You can add additional coupon codes that apply to your order.
If the coupon code is not valid or if the parameters of the coupon are not met, a popup box appears with the reason why the coupon was not accepted. Here are some examples:
Once applied, the savings amount and order subtotal appear on the Review Order page. When you submit the order, the Coupon Product appears on the sales order with the coupon description and coupon discount amount for each coupon applied.
