Route Overview

The Route Overview allows you to see a summary of all of your routes. You also have the option to delete routes, compare multiple routes, lock and unlock routes with manifests, and create manifests in Eclipse.

Route Summary

Each route will display the following:

  • Route name
  • Start time
  • End time
  • Ship Via
  • Driver
  • Vehicle (if assigned)
  • Trip details including mileage, duration, and number of deliveries
  • Weight and load factor (if you are displaying this information)
    • Note: If using HERE, the weight will include the truck weight plus the total weight of the products.

The route summary will also display issues icons if any exist on an order. If there are two or less icons, both will appear on the route. If there are more than two, an exclamation icon will appear. To view the issues on the route, click on the icon.

Compare

The Compare feature allows you to view routes side-by-side and either re-arrange stops within an existing route or move stops from one route to another. To select the routes for compare, you can select each route individually by clicking on the radio button located at the top-right of each route or to select all routes at once, click on the Select All button.

Once you select more than one route, the Compare button will display. Click on the Compare button to view the selected routes side-by-side.

In the Compare screen, stops can be re-arranged within their existing route or moved from one route to another by utilizing the drag and drop feature. Right click on a stop from within the Panel section to Un-Route a stop or utilize the Move to option to reorder a stop with the existing route.

The map will show the directions for each route in their corresponding color and can be toggle on or off by selecting the "Show/Hide Directions" button in the top right. You can also right-click on any numbered icon on the map itself to un-route a stop, move that stop to another route, or utilize the move to feature.

Note: If more than two routes are selected, the map will appear below the routes.

Focus

Focus Mode allows you to filter the Route tab to only show those routes you have selected. To activate Focus Mode, select two or more routes from the Overview section and the Focus Mode icon will appear. Clicking on that icon will filter the entire page (Panel, Overview, and Map) to only show the selected routes.

To exit Focus Mode, click on the Focus Mode icon again.

More Dropdown

Delete

To delete one or more routes, select the desired routes and click the More button to select Delete.

Re-Optimize

This allows you to revert one or more routes back to the original order sequence based on the Optimize setting on the Settings tab. To Re-optimize, select the route(s) by either selecting one or by clicking the Select All button. Only unlocked routes with Optimization On will be Re-Optimized.

Optimize On/Off

By default, when you add more orders to an existing route using the Route button, all orders on the route are re-optimized based on the Optimize setting on the Settings tab. If you have organized a route and do not want new orders to be re-optimized. you can turn Optimization off. New orders will be added to the end of the route and any organizational changes will remain in place.

To turn optimization on or off (based on the current state of the route), select the desired routes from the Overview section and click the More drop down button. An icon will display with a line drawn through it signifying it has been turned off. Or the icon will be removed when optimization is back on.

Lock / Un-Lock

To lock or unlock existing manifests, select the desired manifests and click on the More Button to select either Lock or Unlock.

Refresh

The refresh option will update certain fields for orders already placed on a route and will also push ship via updates back to the orders in the ERP system.

If any of the following changed since the order was added to a route, the Refresh will update -

  • In-process status icon -> If the order was in a picking status when added to a route but has since advanced to a different status, refreshing will remove the in-process icon
  • Requested delivery times (for Eclipse customers only)
  • Carton counts
  • Ship Via -> If the setting Update Ship Via During Routing is enabled

If the order is moved to route that has a different ship via than what is on the order, Refresh will update the ship via in Route and on the order in Eclipse. For Infor customers using TWL, the ship via update will take place in both CSD and in TWL.

Note: We recommend to update these details once the order has completed the picking process.

Create

To create manifests in Eclipse for your routes, select the desired routes and click the Create button. You will be prompted with the number of manifests to create and once you are ready, click the Continue button.

Once the manifests have been created, the manifest number will display next to the route name. You will also see a lock icon when the manifests is locked and an un-lock icon when the manifest is un-locked. You can set the default lock action on the Settings page.

Note: Un-locked manifests can still be edited in Route. You can add new stops, re-arrange existing stops, and remove stops.

Sort

You can change the order your routes display in the Overview section by clicking on the sort icon. By default, routes will sort by Route Name.

Filter

You can filter the routes displayed to only show those that are still open or have been closed and can also filter by ship via templates. This is helpful if you have daytime and nighttime routes and only want to see what is remaining. This is also helpful if there were any skipped stops along the route that need to be removed and placed on a new manifest.  Once there is an active filter, the filter icon will display in green.

A route is considered Open if the following is true:

  • A manifest has not yet been created
  • A manifest that has been created but is unlocked
  • An open (non-locked) manifest that is being delivered
  • An open (non-locked) manifest that has been completed in Deliver but is not closed in Eclipse

A route is considered Locked if the following is true:

  • A manifest has been created and is locked
  • A locked manifest that is being delivered
  • A locked manifest that has been completed in Deliver but not closed in Eclipse

A route is considered Closed if the following is true:

  • A manifest has been completed in Deliver and closed in Eclipse

Ship Via Templates

  • Any ship via template created on the Settings tab will display in the drop down.
  • Once selected, only routes with a manifest ship via matching one listed in the template will display.

Note: The Open, Locked, and Closed filters can be used in conjunction with the Ship Via Template filter. For example, show me all of my Open, Day routes.

Note: The filter status stays with the user so anytime they log off and back in, it will retain their settings and any set filters.

Remove Filter

Once all filters are removed, the icon will go from green to white.  For a filter to no longer be active, a ship via template cannot be selected (check mark beside the template name) and All must be chosen.

  • To remove an Open, Locked, or Closed filter, select All from the list
  • To remove a ship via template filter, simply click on the name of the template and the check mark will be removed

Note:  Once the ship via template is removed, the Route tab will refresh bringing all routes up to date with any changes made while the filter was active.

Add Route

At any time, you can add a route to the Overview panel by clicking on the Add Route button. You can add all of your routes defined in the Territories tab by selecting All, individual routes by selecting the route, or create a new route on-the-fly by selecting New.

Change View

By default, routes appear in the Overview boxes. You have the option to also view routes in a List view by clicking on the View buttons.

Minimize View

If you want to view more of the map underneath the Overview section, you can minimize the Overview section using the minus icon. To display the Overview section, click on the plus icon.

Expand View

If you want to view more routes in the Overview section, you can expand the Overview section and remove the map by selecting the double arrow icon. To return to the default view, click on the double arrow icon.

Route Dates

You can look at previous Route Dates up to 60 days in the past and can create routes for future dates by selected the Route Date in the top right and selecting a day from the calendar.

The Link to Deliver Web will be active on previous manifests for the past 60 days.

You can edit a manifest up to two previous routes dates. After two route dates, the manifest will be view only.
