Introducing Innovo's New Service Status Page

This past Friday, there was a massive “denial of service” attack on the internet which caused a large number of websites and web-based services, including Innovo's, to be unavailable for most of the day. Many of you reported the Customer Portal, Deliver, and Zendesk Support sites as unavailable and, if you were not already logged in to one of our apps, you were not able to log in. This was caused by the attack aimed at the internet infrastructure company Dyn, which resolves web addresses like https://portal.goinnovo.com to the IP addresses of our servers.

If you were already logged into one of our apps, you were able to continue use during the outage — we have designed our infrastructure to support this scenario. Our services were back up and running normally late in the day Friday however, for customers using Deliver, the breadcrumbs collected during the outage were sporadic.

While we cannot control these types of outages from occurring in the future, we can use this as an opportunity to be more proactive in notifying you of issues. With that in mind, we have created an Innovo Status Page (http://status.goinnovo.com) where you can view the status of our services at any time. You will see our three web platforms — Deliver, Customer Portal, and Customer Support — and their current status. Please note, the Customer Portal status can also be used to determine if you will be able to log in to one of our iOS or Android apps. You can subscribe to automatic status updates directly on this site using your email address or by following us on Twitter (https://twitter.com/GoInnovo).

We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to implementing better processes to alert you of future outages. If you want to learn more about Friday's internet outage, this is a great article (https://www.wired.com/2016/10/internet-outage-ddos-dns-dyn/).

Thank you,
Robin Merrion
