Load Mode

Load Mode allows you to verify package counts as you load products onto the truck. In Load Mode, users can scan package barcodes or manually type in a count to verify the correct items on the manifest are being loaded on the truck. This can be used by both designated loaders or by each individual driver.

Enabling Load Mode

Load Mode is accessed through the Deliver app. Any device running Deliver version 2.3.0 and later will have Load Mode as an available option. If you want to ensure that your users are using Load Mode to verify package counts, you will need to enable setting Scan Packages On Truck in Deliver Web -> Settings.

Once enabled, the driver will be prompted when starting the manifest if the load was not completed. This setting can be set globally by enabling it at the All Branches level or at the individual branch. If set at the All Branches level, the option Use All Branches would then be toggled on at the branch level. If enabled, this setting applies to all devices in the branch. After turning the setting on, select Save.

Accessing Load Mode

It’s super easy to switch between Deliveries Mode and Load Mode. To switch from Deliveries mode to Load mode:

1. Use the Mode icon located at the bottom of the settings menu.

2. Once in App Mode -> select Load. The color of the app will change to green letting you know that you have switched modes. Then select Done.

3. Exit settings by clicking outside of the settings

4. You will now be in Load Mode and be taken to the Add Manifest screen where you can select a manifest to load.

Note: To go back to Deliveries mode, repeat the process but select Deliveries instead of Load.

Load Mode Settings

Load Mode setting are similar to Deliver settings and will import on a new install.

General

ERP Account - The Eclipse account you are connected to. If you have multiple Eclipse accounts, you can tap on the ERP Account to change the connected account.

User - The email address of the current logged in user.

Version - The current version of the app.

Device Name - The device name appearing in Deliver Web either comes from the selected vehicle and if so does not apply here or from the Name field in Settings > General > About.

The Name field however is no longer accessible when running iOS 16 or greater. If you are running iOS 16 or greater and do not use vehicles, you will want to set this field to match the Name listed in Settings -> General -> About.

Account

Branches - Tap to select the branches for which this device will have manifest access. The branches displayed are the branches authorized for Deliver. Tap on each branch you would like and then press Account in the right-hand part of the screen to return to the Settings page. You can also use the search box at the top to find a specific branch.

Manifest

Enable Advanced Search: When adding a manifest, the option allows the user to manually enter in a driver of ship-via in addition to the manifest number. If disabled, only a manifest number may be searched for.

Limit Manifest to Deliver Account Settings: This will allow you to control what manifests will be displayed. If the driver will be loading their own truck, you will want to enable this setting so they can see the same manifests they currently see in Deliver. If a designated loader will be loading the truck, you will want to keep this setting disabled so the loader would see all manifests available to load at the branch.

Allow Manual Package Counts: Allows you to manually enter package scans in lieu of scanning.

Security

The Security section allow you to secure the Settings section as well as require a passcode when resetting a manifest on the device.

Enable Settings Passcode - When you tap this to enable, you will be prompted to enter a 4-digit numeric code. Once you enter the code you will be prompted to enter the same code again to verify it was entered the way you intended. Once enabled, the driver must use that settings passcode to enter the Settings page.

Change Settings Passcode - Once you have entered a passcode, you can change that passcode at anytime by pressing Change Settings Passcode. You will first be prompted for the current passcode, and then prompted to enter the new passcode twice. The new passcode cannot be the same as the previous passcode.

Require Passcode to Reset Manifest - Sometimes it may be necessary to reset a manifest on the device before it's completed. Enabling this option will force the driver to enter the settings passcode to reset that manifest.

Touch ID/Face ID - For devices that support Touch ID or Face ID, enabling this setting will allow the user to use the device Touch ID or Face ID to login to the app.

Loading a Manifest

Select Add Manifest to begin loading a manifest. You can load multiple manifests/trucks at the same time.

Double Arrow Icon: By default, you will be loading the truck in reverse order. At any time, you can switch the order by using the double arrow icon on the bottom left bar.

Direct Mode: By default, you are in non-directed mode meaning you can scan any order on any stop regardless of sequence and the app will record the count for that stop. You can enable Direct Mode, by using the target icon located to the right of the double arrow icon. Direct Mode requires you to scan in order of the stops and will prompt you when you scan out of order. If you choose to continue at the prompt, you will be put back in non-directed mode. When you are in Direct Mode, the target icon will display in yellow.

Stop Information

Stop information will include:

  • Name of customer, city, state, and zip code
  • Order number. If a stop contains multiple orders, each number will display.
  • Total package count per stop and per order and a count for each carton type.
  • Hazard icon if the order contains at least one product marked as hazardous.
  • Restricted Product icon if the order contains at least one product with a restricted item.
  • Shipping instructions. Click on Instructions to view text.
Scan Packages

Use the scanner icon to begin scanning packages. The loader will need to scan each package for each stop on the manifest. We recognize the sales order number, tote number(s), and carton packing labels.

The loader will use the camera built into the app or for a better experience, a Socket Mobile scanner. For more information on what scanners are supported, click here.

As you scan, the total count will increment. You can use the minus icon to remove an incorrect scan. The loader can also manually enter in counts as long as that option is enabled in Settings -> Manifests. To manually enter a count, double tap on the order number.

Once all packages have been scanned for an order, you will see a green checkmark.

Route customers only: Once the order has completed the scanning process, the status will flip from LOADING ("RouteGreen) to LOADED ("Deliver" Blue) on the Dispatch tab.

Filter

As you scan orders onto the truck, you can automatically remove completed stops from the view. To turn on the filter, tap on the Filter icon located on the bottom left bar.

NOTE: Stops with zero counts will not be filter from view.

Refresh

If any changes happen to the manifest such as additional stops added, orders added, and package counts added in Eclipse or in Route, you can refresh those details in Load Mode. Click on the Refresh icon located on the bottom left bar. The driver will be prompted and must select Refresh in order to pull in any changes.

NOTE: Refresh will not pull in any counts if the order has completed the scanning process. If there were counts added that need to be verified, you will need to select the minus sign to remove the count(s) thereby removing the green check mark. At that point, you can tap the icon and pull in the changes.

Complete Load

If there are no discrepancies after the last order is scanned, the manifest will automatically complete Load Mode and be removed from the device.

If there are discrepancies, tap on the Complete button when you are finished scanning. This will prompt for an Incorrect Scan Reason. The loader can select YES to continue and must enter in reason before the load can be completed. You can define Standard Comments in Deliver Web to quickly enter in a reason or it can be typed manually. Once the reason is entered, the manifest will be removed from the device.

All loads will be recorded in the Activity Table located on the Dashboard and on the Summary tabs. Incorrect scans will also be reported in the issues section of the Activity Table (Alerts). More information on Alerts can be found here.

Discrepancy in Deliveries Mode

If there were any discrepancies recorded during the load (i.e. over scan, under scan, missing scan), the driver will be prompted when they start the route. Or if the manifest was never loaded through Load Mode, the driver would similarly get this same prompt.

Note: The driver will only be prompted in this case if setting Scan Packages On Truck is enabled in Deliver Web Settings.

To continue loading the manifest, select YES.

One thing to note here on starting the manifest. If you are on the pre-trip stop adjustment page and are used to the manifest starting as you drive away from the branch, the manifest will not auto-start if there is a discrepancy in the load.
