Kiosk Mode

App Functionality

You can now set an Apple device up to operate in “Kiosk Mode” and allow customers to enter their own order in the showroom.
Some important points about Kiosk Mode are:

  • Customers must have an existing login to use the device
  • Orders placed on the Kiosk device will be sent to Eclipse in “Pickup Now” status
  • You can customize the message a customer sees after they have placed an order
  • All customer and contact settings are respected in kiosk Mode; For example, hide pricing, hide account inquiry, etc...
  • The device automatically logs off once an order is submitted
  • Contacts requiring Order Approvals will not be allowed to login in Kiosk Mode

Kiosk Mode - To enable Kiosk Mode, first login to the device as an employee and go to the settings page. Tap the Kiosk Mode toggle to "On" and you will be presented with three additional settings options.

  • Terminal ID - You MUST select a Terminal ID. You may need to create a new Terminal ID specifically for Kiosk Mode - the Terminal ID determines
    • Pricing branch
    • Shipping branch
    • Physical branch
    • Sales source
    • Ship-via
    • Printer location
  • Idle Time (Seconds) - Enter the Idle Time in seconds for the period of inactivity for which you would like the device to automatically log the user out.
  • Allow Discount - By default, if a customer is set to receive discounts in OE Touch, these discounts will not be respected. If you want to enable discounts in Kiosk Mode, enable this setting.

When you're finished with the settings, log the device off and leave it on the login screen for a customer to login.

If a customer who is setup for Order Approval attempts to login, they will see the message "Kiosk Mode Error You are not authorized to submit orders without approval."

When an authorized customer logs in the app will work just like it does in regular customer mode respecting all customer and user settings until they go to checkout. If the screen remains idle for the amount of time, in seconds, specified in the settings the message "Device is Idle Do you want to continue shopping or log out? If you want to continue shopping, you will be required to re-enter your password." will be displayed.

If the user selects Log Out, they will be logged out of the app and the shopping cart will be cleared.

If the user selects Continue Shopping, they will be shown a login screen where the user name is filled in, but they must re-enter their password to log back in. The contents of the cart will still be available.

When the customer is ready to checkout, they will be prompted for their PO#, Release Number, and Required Date. The Terminal ID in settings will determine the ship via, and branch.

The review order screen will show the Red/Yellow/Green product availability information.

When the customer submits an order containing backordered items, they will see those items at the top of the confirmation screen with a message, customized by you in the Innovo OE Touch Kiosk Message control file for the Type "Backorder". If they have items available for immediate pickup those will be shown below also under a custom message heading setup in the same control file for the Type "Avail Now".

Backordered generations will be created according to the customer's default backorder status.

If an order is submitted and it is on Credit Hold, the user will see a different message, customized by you in the control file mentioned above for Type "Credit". In this case the status will be changed to "Call When Complete" and the user in the control file User to Get Tracker When Order on Credit Hold will be alerted.

If the user creating the order has OE Touch on their personal device, and they have accepted push notifications, they will receive a notification on their device when an order is submitted.
